He was the son of the late Aubrey and Dora Lee Bass. He was also preceded in death by a son, Nathan Nicholson.
He was owner operator of B and L Construction and at one time owned Aaron Bass Trucking. He was a member of the Liberty Gospel Tabernacle.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Linda Bass; sons: Terry Bass of Cleveland, Danny Bass and his wife, Kaye, of Hollywood, Ga.; daughters: Michelle Key of Abbyville, Ala., Lisa Bledsoe of Cleveland, Amanda Jones of Athens, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Bass of Plant City, Fla.; sister, Wanda Sexton of Lakeland, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Hershell Earwood officiating.
Interment will follow in the Liberty Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
