MURPHY N.C — The Polk County Wildcats’ trip to North Carolina Thursday evening came up short, as Hiwassee Dam handed them a 13-8 loss.

Four Wildcat errors in the bottom of the second proved extremely costly, as the Eagles were able to rack up eight runs, giving them a 9-0 lead.

Polk was able to get its bats going starting in the top of the fourth, driving in two runs.

Hiwassee Dam added insult to injury with four more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

In the fifth inning, the Wildcats were able to add three more runs to the scoreboard and then two more in the top of the sixth.

Polk County got one more run during the seventh inning.

Wildcat Kendrick Tinker smashed one out of the park and went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
