A boat motor was reportedly stolen from a Staton Drive residence.

Jason Lotty spoke with deputy Adam Beard of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report filed by Beard, Lotty said he noticed his 175-horsepower outboard boat motor was missing Saturday.

Lotty thinks the motor was taken either Friday or Saturday.

The boat motor was valued at $1,500.

- A Rodney Way resident reported the theft of a bicycle valued at $900.

According to Beard, Christopher Gray said someone entered his yard and took the Redline bike.

Gray indicated the theft likely occurred sometime between March 11 and 14.

The bike was described as being silver, with a set of SINZ handlebars and pedals.

- Tennessee Highway Patrol personnel will be conducting Seat Belt Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County beginning next week. Officials will also be holding Checkpoints in April.

The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.

According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public by motorists who would violate the laws of the state.

All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
