Guy Robert “Robbie” Epperson, 56, of Benton, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at a Durham, N.C. hospital.
He was born on March 9, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a deputy sheriff for nine years with the Bradley County Sheriff’s office.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Epperson; maternal grandparents, Harlie and Ona Belle Odom; and paternal grandparents, Maynard and Rachel Epperson.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Voyles Epperson; son, Robert Epperson and his wife, Natalie, of Naples, Fla.; daughters: Brandi Barahona and Heather Garner, both of Benton, Stephanie Barton of Chattanooga and Belinda Edwards of Clintwood, Va.; mother and stepfather, Mary Epperson Chappell and George Chappell of Benton; sisters: Beth Morgan and husband, Jay, of Riceville, Kathy Stewart and husband, Don, of Benton and Donna Perry and husband, Patrick, of Cleveland; stepbrothers: Mica Chappell of Cleveland and Chris Chappell of Brooksville, Fla.; stepsister, Jennifer Crawford of Ridge Manor, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Odom officiating.
Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
