Tom D. Ledford is seeking the post of 6th District commissioner.

A native of Bradley County, Ledford is a 1981 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He has two sons and two grandchildren.

He joined the National Guard in 1981 and served until 1993. he was a driver of tanks.

In 1979, he began work at Bradley Memorial Hospital. He continues to work at SkyRidge Medical Center today.

Among his civic activities, Ledford is a member of Valley View Ruritan Club. He also serves of the Foothills Country Fair board

He was appointed to the H.C.I. committee by Mel Griffith, a 6th District commissioner, and Roy Smith. The committee has given grants to the Greenway, walking trails at Oak Grove Elementary and Valley View School as well as other projects to promote health, wellness and quality of life in the community.

Ledford noted he ran for the County Commission seat in 2006 and 2010.

“I have grown and learned a lot about our local government,” Ledford said.

“If the people of the 6th District give me the pleasure to serve them, I promise to take Washington politics out of our local government and work to keep Bradley County moving forward to keep our road good and our community safe, working to move our schools forward to the future.”

He noted, “I am looking forward to seeing our County Fire Department grow to the best. I will promise to keep taxes low as I can.

“If elected, I will be available, accessible and accountable to the people. I ask you the voter to call me with questions or concerns and let me convince you that I am the best choice for your commissioner.
