United Community Bank welcomes Jim Pemberton as Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender at the Keith Street office. In his new role, Pemberton will be responsible for building full relationships with commercial clients across Bradley and Hamilton counties.

“We are excited to welcome Jim to our team,” said Mickey Torbett, president of United Community Bank in Cleveland.

“He has a true passion for banking, and his natural ability to assess the needs of his customers and find solutions will benefit the entire community. He has several years of local experience, and we’re excited to welcome him back to the Cleveland market full-time.”

Pemberton began his banking career as an Internal/EDP auditor and assistant vice president at First American National Bank in Knoxville. He spent several years in the Cleveland market as a Commercial lender and later as city president for First American National Bank before it was acquired by AmSouth Bank.

He has also held several additional leadership and client-contact roles during his 29-year banking career, including city president of Regions Bank; commercial lender and senior vice president of Southern Heritage Bank; regional president of FirstBank; and most recently, commercial relationship manager and vice president of Cornerstone Community Bank.

“I believe that what sets United Community Bank apart from other banks is the people who work here and the exceptional customer service we provide,” said Pemberton.

“You will not find a friendlier and more helpful group of experienced bankers in town. I am honored to be part of the United Community Bank team.”

In addition to his new role at United Community Bank, Pemberton plans to become more involved in the Cleveland community. He has previously served in various volunteer positions with several community organizations, including the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Rotary International, and United Way.

“Investing in the community and charitable programs is extremely important to me and United Community Bank,” said Pemberton. “We are only as strong as the community in which we do business. In everything we do, we strive to be a good corporate citizen and encourage all employees to lend a hand throughout the community.”

In his spare time, Pemberton enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, fishing, golfing, running, and spending time outdoors.

He lives in Cleveland with his wife, Lisa, who teaches first grade at Blythe – Bower Elementary School. They have two children: Jared and Madison.
