Billy Franklin Bishop, 80, of Ocoee, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Welcome Valley Church. He was a friend to all who met him. His favorite hobbies included reading, fishing and hunting. He was a gentle giant and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Bishop; mother, Climmie Lee Bishop; sisters: Shirley Kaylor and Bettie Lee Bishop; brother, Robert (Bobby) Bishop and son, Anthony (Tony) Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Bishop; daughter, Cindy Park and husband, Nathan; son, Jeffery Bishop and wife, Patty; two stepdaughters, Donna Gail Whitener and Sherry Whitener; granddaughter, Sydney Park and great-grandson, Braxton Nelms; brother, Jerry Bishop and wife, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Chad Maxwell officiating.
Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the funeral home.
