David Frank Knoop, 75, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at a Chattanooga health care facility.

The son of the late Rueben and Lena Rappel Knoop, he was born in Baraboo, Wis., and has lived in Bradley County for the past 16 years.

He was retired from Arch Chemicals after 36 years of service, and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His passions in life were sailing, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Nora Johnell Knoop of Cleveland; daughter, Stacy Fahringer of Cleveland; grandsons: Jason Fahringer of Cleveland and Lawson Slatton of South Carolina; sister, Gwen Fraust of Blairsville, Wis.; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
