He was a member of First Baptist Concord. He was a student of Christian Academy of Knoxville and member of the Warrior Shooting Team.
Carter, “the timekeeper,” loved to travel and appreciated a proper cup of tea. He also enjoyed reading, films, history and the symphony.
He is survived by his parents, Billy and Emily Hicks; brother, Cooper Webb Hicks; grandparents: the Rev. P. David and Dianna Hicks of Jacksboro, and Emmett and Wilma Chastain of Knoxville, formerly of Cleveland; uncle and aunt: Drs. Joseph and Kimberly Hicks of Knoxville, Tyler and Heather Chastain of Knoxville, and Jason and Holli Chastain of Silva, N.C.; cousins: Griffin and Braden Hicks, Daniel, Haleigh, Holly and Hudson Chastain, Grace and Colin Chastain; and many extended family members.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, from 10 to 11:45 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at noon in the sanctuary of First Baptist Concord. Carter’s grandfather, the Rev. P. David Hicks will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
