FIT 11, Lady Flames 3 (6)

In game two coach Emily Russell’s club drew one of the premiere softball programs in the Sunshine State Conference in Florida Tech (6-0). The Lady Flames held a 2-1 advantage after three innings of play but a six-run fourth for Panthers put the game out of reach.

Speedy leadoff hitter Laurel Allen was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Amanda Lynn also had a pair of hits for the Lady Flames. Lizzie Steven finished 2-for-3 with a RBI double in the third inning that put Lee ahead for a brief moment.

Dominique Hannah finished 1-for-2 and scored the first Lady Flames’ run on an Ana Coscorrosa single in the third inning.

Jessica Callahan provided most of the pop for the Panthers offensively. The freshman ripped a two-run homer in the fourth and a three-run double in the fifth to finish 5-for-5 with six RBI. Catcher Nicole Shinsky was a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish and drove in two.

Angie Hughes started and worked three innings giving up just one unearned run on three hits. Hailey Clark (0-1) was tagged with the loss for the Lady Flames. The freshman worked 2/3 of an inning giving up six runs on seven hits. Annabeth Pruett saw her first collegiate action in the circle in relief. Lady Flames 10, Rollins 4

The Lady Flames used a 10-run sixth inning to fire past Rollins College, 10-4 in the opening game on Saturday.
