Dale Roark, 73, of Birchwood, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in a Chattanooga health care facility.
He was the son of the late Pauline Pendergrass Roark and Carl Roark.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Sid Roark.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a mail carrier with more than 25 years of service. He was also a beef cattle farmer.
He was an avid coon hunter and a member of the Birchwood Coon Hunters Association for 40 years. He was a member of the Birchwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Cofer Roark; daughter, Carlene Roark Delashmitt, and her husband, Terry, all of Birchwood; grandchildren: Alison Nation and husband, Don, and Austin Delashmitt; great-grandchildren: Capri and Campbell Nation and Avery Delashmitt; sisters: Ann Rawlston and husband, Ed, and Carol Randolph and husband, Bob; brothers: Jess Roark and his wife, Ginger, and Roger Roark and his wife, Lorine, all of Birchwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Rememberance of Life service will be conducted today, Feb. 9, 2014, at 4 p.m., from the Birchwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Delmotte officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Eddie Rawlston, Joe Randolph, Allen Randolph, Gene Randolph, Jacky Neely and Dee Roark serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church today from 2 p.m. until the service time.
