The ACS Life Inspiration Awards offers an opportunity to honor those who inspire and encourage cancer survivors and their families in the community.
Nominations are being accepted through March 1 with the Life Inspiration Luncheon being held at the Chattanoogan on April 11.
Honorees will include:
- Five cancer survivors who have been instrumental in cancer prevention; education and /or the inspiration of others in their fight toward recovery.
- Five family/friend caregivers who have provided compassionate care; given emotional strength and/or inspired a passion for life.
- One health care professional caregiver (doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, etc.) will also be honored who has provided care beyond professional expectations and requirements.
Nominations are submitted in an essay format. Honorees can be nominated by friends, family and healthcare professionals. Cancer survivor nominees must currently live or work within the greater Chattanooga area; have been diagnosed with cancer; and have been instrumental in cancer prevention; education; and / or inspiring others in their fight towards recovery. All nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee with 11 nominees receiving the prestigious American Cancer Society Life Inspiration Award. All winners will be notified by April 1.
There are hundreds of wonderful caregivers and survivors in Bradley County and it would be possible to have a Cleveland person receive the award.
There are also many wonderful professional caregivers in the Bradley County area as well.
