Ronald Swinford, 62, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away at his home on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014.

He was born in Bradley County on March 20, 1951, a son of the late J.C. and Lula Swinford.

He loved the outdoors, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles "June Bug" Swinford.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Linda "Sue" Swinford; one daughter, Tina Myers and her husband, Bobby, of Nashville; two grandchildren: Latishua Overton of Chattanooga and Brittany Cash; one great-grandchild, Autumn Cash; sister-in-law, Nancy Swinford; niece, Heather Massengill; nephew, Charles Swinford; close friend he thought of like a daughter, Yoshania Masingill; special friend, Lamar Martin; his four-legged companion, Toby; and numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at noon at the Bethel Baptist Tabernacle, located on 3165 Buchanan Road S.E in Cleveland, with the Revs. John Bivens and Billy Swaggerty officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with his brothers-in-law serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Myers and Chris Bradford.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Tabernacle and also one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.
