Central Church of Christ homecoming is Sunday

On the first Sunday in February in 1926 the Central Church of Christ was established in Cleveland.

On Sunday, the church will celebrate 88 years in the community with a homecoming celebration.

Services will begin with Bible study at 9:30 a.m., worship service at 10:30 a.m. and afternoon worship at 2 p.m.

A covered-dish meal will be served between the morning and afternoon services.

James Farris will be the speaker for the homecoming service.

Farris, a fourth-generation gospel preacher, worked with the Central Church of Christ from 2001 to 2204. Farris and his wife, Priscilla, have five sons.

From Cleveland, the Farrises moved ot Petersville congregation in Florence, Ala. After nearly nine years there, a move was made to Madison’s Rivergate church of Christ in 20013

Farris has also worked at Heritage Christian University in various capacities. He is also author of numerous books, and writes articles for various brotherhood publications as well as conducting gospel meetings.
