Virginia Ann Heath Shelton, 73, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in a local hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Mattie Bell Peace Heath and Jewell Thomas Heath. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Fred Shelton; twin daughters: Cathy Elaine Shelton and Connie Lynn Shelton; and sister, Reba Jarman.
She enjoyed sewing and reading and loved her cat, Kitty. She worked for more than 30 years in the carpet industry. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by: one daughter, Selena Young and her husband, Eddie, of Dalton, Ga.; three sons: Emery Shelton and his wife, Lorette, of Old Fort, Carl Shelton and his wife, Jane, of Alabama and David Shelton and his wife, Jean, of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren: Amanda Meadows, Daniel Shelton, April Earnest and her husband, Jeremiah, Steven Shelton and his wife, Sandy, Josh Shelton and his companion, Tina Newton, Eric Shelton and his wife, Tammy, Angela Short, Billy Young, Luke Young and Michelle Garvin and her husband Kenneth; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mildred Riley of Atlanta, Mary Lou Allen and her husband, Sid and Shirley Martin, all of Rome, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Jerald Fowler officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Calhoun Ga. at 3:30 Tuesday with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
