Peaches Carol Searles was sworn in as 2014 president of ORBA, by the state president of the Home Builders Association of Tennessee, Mitzi Spann.
Many local and state dignitaries were present.
Searles has been involved with the association for many years. She also owns and operates one of the largest portable toilet and septic companies in Bradley County and Cleveland.
She was confirmed by the membership in November 2012 for the latter as vice president.
She is married to Kenny Searles and has a daughter, Ashley Searles who attends Lee University.
Searles looks forward to 2014 as representative for the building industry. She also is running for Bradley County commissioner for the 4th District this year.
Also the same evening, the executive board, along with the board of directors, were also sworn in the 2014 Executive Board: President Searles; Vice President Charlotte Jones; Secretary Treasurer, Kim Shay; Past President Lake Mantooth; and Government Affairs Chairman Dennis Epperson.

Two of the highly anticipated awards of the night were the 2013 Local Builder of the Year and Associate of the Year.
The Builder of the Year is not easily attained. Not only is ORBA looking for an active builder but also chooses the recipient according to the amount of time given to the association, how well they represent builders to the public, and participation along with commitment in volunteering their time.
The 2013 Local Builder of the Year was CC Blankenship and Sons. They are a third generation of builders and have been building for over 40 years. Charles Blankenship is highly regarded by his peers in the building industry and by the consumers in our area.
The winner of the 2013 Associate of the Year was Wholesale Supply Group. It is one of the largest wholesale and retail suppliers of quality plumbing, electrical and HVAC products in the southeastern United States.
It has store locations in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, and Virginia. Wholesale Supply Group has supported ORBA throughout many years.
Wholesale Supply was chosen by ORBA's board of directors for its continued commitment to ORBA and local builders. It is willing to donate time and participate with local projects, and its commitment to the industry is highly appreciated, officials said.
