Fred H. Davis, 81, a resident of Riceville, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 11, 2014, in a Knoxville hospital.
He was the son of the late Carrie Green Davis and Henry Davis. He was preceded in death by his son, Tom Davis; and brothers: Bill, Claude and Bob Davis.
He was a millwright and welder most of his life and retired from Duracell with more than 10 years of service. He owned and operated Davis Used Cars in Charleston.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and working on old cars. He attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include his daughter, Hollie Wattson and her husband, Terry, of Cleveland; his sons: Christopher Davis and Barry Davis and his wife, Shantelle, all of Calhoun; his grandchildren: Jordan Campbell, Jakob Davis, Waylon Davis, Dustin Davis, Luke Davis and Madison Wattson; his sister, Jane Simpson; his brother, Charlie “Buck” Davis, all of Cleveland; his companion, Ann Grady of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Dean Myers and Buck Myers officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jordan Campbell, Jakob Davis, Waylon Davis, Dustin Davis, Terry Wattson and Jimmy Green serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
