For the first time in more than 20 years, the 88th Annual Meeting of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce will move to a new night and new location that can more easily accommodate the increase in numbers organization officers and directors anticipate for the yearly conclave.
On Thursday, Jan. 30, doors will open at 6 p.m. at the Omega Center International, 410 Urbane Road N.E. Omega Center, a $22 million state-of-the-art facility which is a division of the Cleveland-based Perry Stone Ministries. The center is Phase 1 of a three-phase development on 80 acres off Urbane Road.
“Life Care Centers of America has been a gracious host for our Annual Meeting for many years,” noted Gary Farlow, Chamber president and CEO. “But with our successful membership event last October that nearly doubled our membership numbers, and with our history of selling out this event, the board of directors determined it was appropriate to seek a larger venue for our 88th Annual Meeting.”
The new location will allow for more-than-adequate parking and seating, as well as space for networking and hors d’oeuvres in the lobby prior to banquet seating for dinner. Among items on the program following dinner are the awarding of the prestigious M.C. Headrick Free Enterprise Award and the Robert W. Varnell Leadership Award. The program will also include a review of 2013 — the Year of the Member, introduction to the 2014 Program of Work and recognition of the outgoing board of directors.
“Please make plans to join us for this wonderful evening of celebration,” Farlow encouraged. “We anticipate a festive occasion as we review the accomplishments of 2013 and look to an ambitious 2014 in our Program of Work.”
Tickets for the catered event are $60 for individuals and $500 for corporate tables of eight. Unlike previous years, the availability of corporate tables is unlimited. Reservations may be made by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 423-472-6587 or visiting the website www.clevelandchamber.com and clicking on the events calendar.
