A young man, a girlfriend, a mysterious stranger, and one single gold bullet. How far would you go to get revenge on those who brought pain into your life?

D. Keith Jones has recently released a faith-based, allegorical novel, “Sheriff Adonia, The Gift of the Stranger’s Necklace.” The book tells the story of a young man, Misief, and his journey to stay one step ahead of a sheriff, a stranger and a broken past which is constantly pursuing him.

The story is set in the Old West as the Oregon Trail was opening for passage. After losing it all as a young boy, Misief struggles to survive in the unforgiving Western wilderness. Nainsi, the girl of his dreams, wonders if she can convince Misief to give up his old ways or will his past forever destroy any hope of a bright future.

Will he surrender his fight or will he follow in the footsteps of those before him?

The reader will laugh, will cry and cheer, but ultimately, will have to answer the question: “Are you going to surrender?”

Jones, a motivational speaker and author, serves as senior pastor at Rock Pointe Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. He was assistant vice president at a local Fortune 200 company before dedicating his life to full-time ministry. In prison ministry, he has taught leadership development to inmates in the Georgia Department of Corrections.

On any given Sunday he has been known to use Poker playing cards, chrome dancing poles, rocks, tractors and footballs to teach God’s Word. Jones definitely sees things through a perspective that allows those who read or listen to him to understand biblical truths in a clear manner. He articulates the Word in such a way that it is relevant and applicable to everyday life. You never know what He will bring with him to church on any given Sunday to illustrate complex theologies in the simplest way. He enjoys writing and producing dramatic presentations, also, such as, “From the Wall of Cell 309,” “Bethlehem Morning” and “Heartbeat.”

The author and minister was born in Manchester to parents who served God in pastoral ministry for more than 30 years. His wife, Nancy, also grew up in a church parsonage. Jones accepted the call into the ministry in 1987. He completed his education and was ordained in 1992.

In 2007, the Joneses stepped out in faith to start a church in their home. The concept was to start a church focused on reaching out to the hurting, non-Christian community. The first Sunday started with just the two of them, but within a month, it grew to an attendance of 11.

They purchased an old church building and, within 45 days, completely renovated it. And on Dec. 4, 2007, they opened Rock Pointe Worship Center.

In 2009, Jones began the process of merging two church families’ together — Rock Pointe Worship Center and Cornerstone Community Church — to form Rock Pointe Church. Today Rock Pointe is an independent church comprised of Christians from all walks of life.

Jones and his wife reside in Ringgold, Ga. They have three grown children and six grandchildren.
