Garland Ray Muncy, 66, of Cleveland passed away Saturday Jan. 4, 2014, in a local hospital following a short illness.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed with Whirlpool in Cleveland with more than 23 years of service.

He was of the Church of God faith. He was an avid music lover and singer.

He was the son of the late Rev. R.C. and Nell Muncy and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kristen Muncy; brothers: JR, James O. Sr. and his twin brother, Tom Muncy; and sister, Jeanette Eubanks.

He is survived by his daughters: Marissa Eustace and her husband, Steve, of San Diego Calif.; Jessica Doss and her husband, David, of Cleveland; Jennifer Muncy of Cleveland; his brand new granddaughter, Sadie Ray Hope Doss; sister, LaReta Brown and her husband, David; close friends: Renee Muncy Simms, Neal Dover and Beth Atchley all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday , Jan. 8, 2014, at the North Ocoee Street Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Guinn Green officiating.

Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
