Boyd Ray Henry, 68, of Charleston, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at his home.

He was a member of Council Baptist Church. He retired from Bowaters after many years of service. In earlier years he was a school bus driver for Neil McAlister. He was a longtime volunteer for Charleston Fire Department and was an avid coon hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Roberts Henry; father, Gib Henry; and mother, Ester Long Jacobs.

Survivors include children: Junior Ray Henry and wife, Brandy, and Rebecca Ann Armstrong Hughes and husband, Mack, all of Pisgah, Ala.; grandchildren: Joshua Boyd Armstrong, Alex Armstrong and Amber Marie Henry; brothers: Edward Bill Henry and James Roy Henry both of Madisonville; and sisters: Louise Colpitt of McKinleyville, Calif., Mamie Lou Buckner of Delano, Marie Martin, Aline Strickland, and Geneva Moses, all of Madisonville, and Joyce Isbill of Sweetwater.

Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 29, 2013, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Jack Sanders officiating.

Interment will follow in Kitchens Cemetery in Ball Play in Monroe County.
