Monroe Area Council for the Arts will present “An Evening With Molly Ringwald” in a Sunday matinee performance Jan. 19, 3:30 p.m., at Hiwassee College in Madisonville.

The show is sponsored by Peoples Bank.

An actress of stage and screen, Ringwald earned a Golden Globe nomination at age 13, and went on to star in numerous films, including the iconic John Hughes films “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club” and “”Pretty in Pink.”

On stage, Ringwald starred in Broadway productions of the Pulitzer Prize winning play “How I Learned to Drive”; the revival of “”Cabaret”; Tony-nominated “”Enchanted April” and the West End production of “”When Harry Met Sally.”

Ringwald released her debut album in April 2013 called “Except Sometimes,” released by Concord Records.

An homage to the Great American Songbook, Ringwald has crafted a carefully chosen selection of nine standards which she caps off with her take on “The Breakfast Club” class “Don't You (Forget About Me).”
