To The Editor:
Enough! Enough! I have had enough of your story on Police Chief Wes Snyder and his girlfriend. Twice it has made the front page of the Banner and the TV media has had a field day. And to top it off, video of the inside of the shed ... this is sick!
Adultery is a sin ... not a crime. Let the good Lord, Jesus Christ, take care of the situation.
Who hates this man and woman so much [as to] destroy their lives and hurt their families? When I worked, this would have been taken care of “in house” and not publicly. In other words [it would have been handled] as if it had been them who got caught!
I agree Wes Snyder made a bad decision, but I don’t think he should resign, and especially after 33 years of service. This stigma will follow him and the woman for the rest of their lives. It is sad that we have become so vicious or bloodthirsty to treat another person like these two people have endured.
Please, by this memo, do not continue this story, but let it go. Please let them clean up their lives and move on.
— June Snyder
(Editor’s Note: Because she bears the same last name, the writer also specifies she is “no relation” to retiring Cleveland Chief of Police Wes Snyder. It should also be clarified the Cleveland Daily Banner has not made use of any photographs nor video from outside or inside the warehouse storage unit, nor do we intend to — not in our print edition, website nor Facebook page. File photographs of the two persons involved are all that have been used to date, in addition to the two news stories mentioned by the letter writer.)
