Bobby “Jack” Hughes, 78, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1935, to the late Wigh and Edna Hughes.
For 35 years and up to the recent months, he worked in the flame-hardening industry and took great pride in his work.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Junior and Robert Hughes.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 21 years, Oleeta Hughes; six daughters: Laurie Phair (Gary), Traci Sharp (Jerry), Krissy Noetzold (Jimmy), all of Warren, Mich., Jackie Moss (Sherman) of Chandler, N.C., Cheryl Davis (Melvin), and Pam Goodwin (Rick), all of Cleveland; three sons: Allen Hughes of Warren, Mich., Barry Hughes and Keith Hughes, both of Murphy, N.C.; sister, Shirley Childers of Cleveland; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends today, Dec. 13, 2013, from 3 p.m, until the 7 p.m. service time at Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church, 1011 Swan Road, Old Fort. Pastor Jason Guthrie will be officiating.
Interment will be held at Dill Cemetery in Old Fort at 11 a.m.
