The Bradley County Soil Conservation District held its annual awards banquet recently.

The district chose Ron Calfee as the Conservation Farmer of the Year.

Calfee runs a Dairy Farm operation in Bradley County with 280 cows in milk production. With assistance from Natural Resources Conservation Service in cooperation with the Bradley County Soil Conservation District, Calfee was able to obtain a new Waste storage facility.

Calfee was given a jacket and a Conservation Farmer of the Year sign that was made possible by TDA, BCSCD and NRCS.

“We want to express our appreciation for those landowners that have installed practices that have improved our soil, water quality, and made the air cleaner,” a Soil Conservation District representative said.
