The academic journal specifically publishes scholarly articles related to the fields of compulsory and postsecondary education. Every published article must undergo an extensive peer review by other researchers and authors.
“It is an honor to have my manuscript accepted and published by a popular journal,” said Lowe. “I think it is the final stamp of credibility on anyone’s academic work.”
Lowe began his research in 2011 and submitted the first draft for publication this past spring. His work, titled “Reforming Education: A Sociopolitical Leverage Framework for Understanding Influences on Policy,” addresses the individuals and tools used in developing and implementing public educational policy.
“With the hot-button issue of Common Core, I think this publication is perfectly timed; however, it is not light reading,” said Lowe.
“But for those who have the stomach for it, I encourage you to read it.”
Lowe has presented on public policy, education, and nonprofit administration locally and in surrounding states.
He has been a guest lecturer at area colleges and symposiums. Lowe also serves as the vice chairman of the Bradley County Commission and as chairman of the education committee.
