Back by popular demand — the Children’s Room Book Fair, running Dec. 9-17. Books make great gifts and there is a large assortment for all ages.

Along with the books there are great gift items available that will make great stocking stuffers. The wonderful thing about buying at the library is that all the proceeds go to purchase additional books for the children’s collection.

The following computer classes will be offered during December: Computers (Intermediate), Dec. 16 and 17, 10 a.m.to noon; Email, Dec. 11 and 12, 3 to 5 p.m.; and Word, Dec 18 and 19, 3 to 5 p.m.

Events happening in the Children’s Room for December are: Dec. 11, Family Game Time, 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Community Room; and PJ’s and “The Polar Express,” Dec. 12, 6:45 until 8:15 p.m. This is the time to come to the library in your PJ’s with your favorite blanket and watch a delightful Christmas movie with hot chocolate and popcorn.

On Dec. 14, the Tween Matinee will be showing “The Croods” (Rated PG), in the Community Room from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Books will be given to the first 10 patrons on Library Family Reading Night, Dec. 16, and a special craft, Holiday Cookie Houses, will be available for the first 30 participants. Join us in the Community Room from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Movie Night at the Library will be showing the new holiday classic, “A Christmas Story,” in the Community Room Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. Bring the family to see this movie on the big screen and enjoy freshly made popcorn.

Do you geek something? That is the question we are asking our patrons. Please go to our website — geek.clevelandlibrary.org — and complete a short survey regarding a passion of yours. We are beginning a national campaign with other libraries across the country and want to showcase our patrons.

The library will be closed Dec. 24-26 for the Christmas holidays.
