Hazel Marie Lachenmyer, 103, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Nov. 29, 2013, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Martha Elizabeth Smith Brogden and James Anderson Brogden. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Prentice; sisters, Flossie Owens and Della Harrison; and brothers: Paul Brogden, Fletcher Brogden and William Brogden.
She was retired from Daughtery’s Department Store in Willows, Calif., as a seamstress and salesperson, after also working in the office in accounting.
She was the past master of Jacinto Grange in Willows. She loved gardening, vegetables and flowers, also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Sydne Prentice and his wife, Diana, of Cleveland; five grandchildren: Dennis Prentice, Robert Prentice and his wife, Judy, Debbie McDonald, Robin Byrd and her husband, Phillip, Dawn Hegwer and her husband, Todd; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service and interment will be conducted at a later date in California.
A visitation will be held tonight from 6 until 8 at the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
