The Rev. JD Wallraven, age 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away early Thursday morning, Dec. 6, 2013, in a local hospital.

He was the son of the late Rhoda Headrick Wallraven and Dennis H. Wallraven. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jo Wallraven.

He was retired from Cleveland Enamel, Magic Chef and Maytag with more than 42 years of service.

He was an ordained minister with the Baptist Church and he loved helping people. He enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.

He was a member of Four Point Baptist Church. He was loved by all and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, JoAnn Blackwell Wallraven of Cleveland; his daughter, Teresa Yvonne Cochran and her husband, Robert, of Riceville; his grandsons: Jamie Barrett of Cleveland, and Jonathan Wallraven of San Francisco; his sisters: Dorothy Henry and her husband, Buddy, of Cleveland, and Annie Mae Browder and her husband, John, of Old Fort; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at noon from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Ray Cheathem officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
