If you love old books, stop by the Craigmiles-Johnston History Branch Library today for a Rare Book Silent Auction from 2 until 4 p.m. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Library Association with the help of the library’s Teen Advisory Group. All books are prior to the 1920s and include first editions, primers, classics, serials, biographies and essays. The bidding will end at 3:30 p.m.

Movie Night at the library on Tuesday, 7 p.m., will feature the family movie, “The Thief Lord,” based upon Cornelia Funke’s children’s book. It follows the lives of two young boys named Prosper and Boniface who trek off to Venice in order to remain together after losing their mother. She always told them how magical Venice was, and their expectations were high.

Instead, they are left to fend for themselves on the street until they meet the Thief Lord. He’s sort of a cross between Robin Hood and Peter Pan, though his intentions aren’t to stay young forever. Bring the whole family to the library for a great movie and popcorn.

Teen After Hours will celebrate the release of “Catching Fire” on Saturday Come dressed as your favorite “Hunger Games” character. Teen After Hours is open to teens ages 13-17, from 7 to 9 p.m.

There will be a library tour on Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. beginning in the lobby. This is a way to see the behind the scene action at your library. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and no reservations are required.
