Barbara Jo Grimes, 71, of Cleveland, passed from this earthly life to eternal peace in the presence of her Lord on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Oct. 10, 1942, to Joe and Carrol Neff, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Grimes; her children: Janine Ysidro and husband, Mark, and Susie Swetman and husband, Billy; and her four grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Tori Ysidro, Megan Swetman, Lexi Ysidro and Allen Swetman, all of Cleveland; her sister, Jan Hack and husband, Dave, of Oakwood, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews and friends, whom she loved dearly.
She was in the banking industry for 35 years and owned B & B Marina with her husband for 10 years before her retirement.
A celebration of her life is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the North Cleveland Baptist Church, located at 2815 North Ocoee St., with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating.
Interment will follow in the Tasso United Methodist Cemetery with Gene Heffington, Charles Hysinger, Buddy Arnold, Lanny Tayloe, C. R. Frazee and Ed Boring serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Tyler, Chris Turner, Ken Sosebee, Don Gaddis, Tom Wilkerson, Lee Wolgamott, Allan King and Steve Elliott.
The family will receive friends from 1 until the 2 p.m. service time in the church sanctuary.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donation be made in Barbara’s memory to the Open Door Sunday School Class at North Cleveland Baptist Church.
