Christine Sneed was recently awarded the Outstanding CAPPA Certified Lactation Educator Faculty of the year award.

This is an international recognition as CAPPA has trainers in the USA and five other countries.

Sneed held 20-hour CLE trainings that met all the requirements for the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative throughout 2013 educating healthcare professionals on the benefits and importance in educating their patients in breastfeeding medicine.

An International Board Certified Lactation consultant is a healthcare professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. These breastfeeding experts become certified by the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Examiners by passing a rigorous exam.

Sneed was awarded this prestigious award based on the evaluations of her trainees and colleagues.

Sneed works for LifeCircle Women’s Healthcare Cleveland and runs the only free standing lactation center in the Tennessee valley area.

She puts the care in healthcare with the philosophy that “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care” and she shows this to her patients and teaches it to all she trains.
