Halloween tricksters stop, egg vehicle

Halloween tricksters were reportedly out doing their dirty deeds in the area of Weatherly Switch Road, in southern Bradley County.

According to a report filed by Jimmy Smith of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Gregory Penney said he was traveling on Weatherly Switch Trail when he came on some tree limbs in the roadway. As he slowed, his 2001 Mitsubishi was bombarded with eggs.

Penney reportedly sped away and called authorities.

Smith said he observed numerous broken egg shells on the vehicle.

After further investigation, he found the area where the incident reportedly occurred.

Broken branches and egg shells were on the pavement.

Smith said he searched for the offenders, who could not be located.

- The Senior Center located on Urbane Road was vandalized.

Sharon Westfield said someone attempted to enter an outbuilding on the property and take items stored inside.

According to a report filed by deputy Robert O’Daniel, a lock was damaged but entry wasn’t made.

Possible suspect information was provided in his report.

The damage to the building and lock was assessed at $25.

Investigation is continuing.
