The Bearettes claimed impressive victories over East Ridge and Signal Mountain, while the Bears blasted the Pioneers, but came up short against the Eagles.
Bradley will return to the lanes Tuesday, with a trip to Athens to face McMinn County in the first District 5 battle of the new season. The Black-and-Gold will also travel to Chattanooga on Oct. 17 for a region roll against Notre Dame.
Bradley will take on county rival Walker Valley on Oct. 24 and Nov. 12, at the Leisure Time Bowling Center.
Opening the campaign by outscoring their first two opponents by a combined 48-6 score, the Bearettes rolled on the Lady Pioneers 25-2 and outsoared the Lady Eagles 23-4.
Kealy Collins posted personal-best single game tallies of 198 and 222 to lead Bradley over Signal Mountain, while Laura English had the high game against East Ridge with a 168.
Alec Norwood topped the boys’ effort with a 248 high game in a 23-4 victory over the Pioneers, then topped the Bear tally with a 203 in the 17-10 defeat to the Eagles.
Bradley will roll a total of 15 matches during the regular season, with Dec. 11 being the final scheduled games, before the TSSAA postseason opens in early January. The state tournament is slated for Jan. 23-25 at the Smyrna Bowling Center.
