Scotty Lee Goodner, 39, was charged with burglary after deputies, responding to a prowler call on Sunset Trail, spotted Goodner pushing an ATV up the roadway.
According to a report filed by deputy Adam Beard of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Beard and Lt. Doug Towne responded to the neighborhood and began to investigate.
Goodner reportedly told deputies he had found the Yamaha 4-wheeler in a ditch and was pushing it to a business located on Overhead Bridge Road.
Beard made contact with the owner of the ATV, who said the vehicle had been parked in her detached garage.
Alesha Guy said Goodner didn’t have permission to take the vehicle.
Goodner was arrested and transported to the Bradley County Jail, where he was booked on the burglary charge, according to Beard’s report.
Guy took possession of the allegedly stolen ATV, which was valued at $1,035.
- Cleveland Police Department detectives are investigating the theft of radios taken from cars burglarized at the city of Cleveland’s Fleet Garage.
According to Detective Bill Parks of the Criminal Investigations Division, the vehicles were broken in to last week.
The theft was believed to have occurred Oct. 1.
Eight radio systems were taken.
A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator(s), according to Parks.

- Investigation into vandalism of mailboxes, as well as several thefts, is ongoing by county officials.
According to reports filed with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, a number of mailbox posts were damaged in the area of 31st Street.
The incidents were reported during the weekend, according to Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for BCSO.
Gault also noted that deputies responded to a Cross Lane address where the rear window of a 2000 Dodge Stratus had been vandalized.
Deputies believed a rock was used to cause the damage estimated at $300.
Gault also said a Dixie Drive resident reported the theft of a Craftsman tool bag which contained miscellaneous tools, a Black & Decker leaf blower and a wheelbarrow.
The victim also reported the theft of his Labrador retriever. The canine theft occurred in September, according to the report.
The victim estimated his loss at $1,310.
Investigation is continuing.
