Both teams will travel to Mount Berry, Ga., on Oct. 19 for the Berry Invitational. The men are scheduled for an 8:45 a.m. start, while the women will toe the line at 9:30 a.m.
Emmanuel College earned the team win with 62 points in the men’s race. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (134) was second and Tennessee Wesleyan College (159) was third. Lee’s point total was 504.
Emmanuel Kipchumba was fastest for the Flames in the 8K race. Kipchumba crossed the finish line at 27:23.39 to finish 75th in the field of 209 runners.
Camden Perez was 96th with a time of 27:43.94. Patrick Shultz (28:02.02) and Terris Elliott (28:02.58) were 118th and 119th, respectively.
Freshman Joseph Crook was 124th (28:11.81), Adam Tauzer was 140th (28:28.44) and Justin Knuth had a time of 29:21.53 (175th).
Rounding out the Lee runners were Adam Gullette and Keenen Hindes. Gullette was 178th (29:25.04) and Hindes finished 188th (29:57.83).
Hope College posted a team score of 91 to hold off Northwood University (107) to win the 5K women’s race. Wingate University was third with 131 points. The Lady Flames scored 571 points.
Ashley Matthews paced Lee with a time of 20:00.35 to finish 71st out of 211. Jessica Childers was 123rd (20:46.89) and Cayce Bryan (20:49.72) was 125th.
Victoria Yates crossed the finish line at 21:09.53 (145th), Emily Arnesen (21:29.43) was 158th and Emily Bryan was 167th (21:39.61).
Storyie Miller was 189th at 22:39.34 and Elizabeth Sillcocks was 200th (23:47.91).
