Maxine Davenport, 86, of Athens, died Wednesday Sept. 18, 2013.
She was born May 16, 1927, in Double Springs, Ala., to the late Winston Elsie and Ottie Madison Lovette.
She was a factory worker and homemaker. She was of the Church of God faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cloys Davenport; sister, Cleo Middleton; and brother, Junior Lovette.
Survivors Include a son, David Davenport of Sweetwater; daughters: Wanda Willis of Athens and Linda Ballew of Cleveland; two brothers; one sister; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild
The funeral was held Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay, Ga., with the Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating.
Pallbearers were Rocky Ballew, Michael Willis, Michael Peden, Lee Boggess, Bobby Brown, Neal Smith, Buddy Davenport and Joe Davis.
Interment was in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
