Shawn Patrick Wilson, 40, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at his home.
He received an associate of arts degree in nursing from Cleveland State. He was a registered nurse and was employed with Pine Ridge Treatment Center. He enjoyed helping people with drug and alcohol rehab and A.A. meetings. He was an avid reader, writer and a lover of antiques and nostalgia. He enjoyed being outdoors. He attended First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Hurst Wilson of Cleveland; daughter, Abigayle Sinclair Wilson of Cleveland; sons: William Isaac Wilson of Cleveland and Garrett Andrew Frye of Cleveland; mother, Julie Tripp of Clarksville; father, Woody Wilson and his wife, Sheila, of Cleveland; sisters: Teresa Renson and her husband, Mark, of North Pole, Alaska, and Brandi Docev and her husband, John, of Clarksville; brother, Tony Wilson and his wife, Paulette, of Port Orchard, Wash.; close cousin, Malcolm Kyle Terrill of Cleveland; special friend, Vicki Frye of Cleveland; nieces and nephews: Ben Renson, Alena Renson, and Brock Renson, all of North Pole Alaska and Jack Docev of Clarksville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Teresa Norman and Pastor Gary Sears officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
