Gary McDonald of Cleveland has erected this replica of the Ground Zero Cross in his front yard on Ramblewood Circle. As workers began the difficult job of recovering the dead from the rubble of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in September 2001, firefighter Frank Silecchia saw the steel beams in the form of a cross. The sight reportedly caused him to cry for 20 minutes. Soon the cross became a meeting place. It is now included in the World Trade Center Museum. Banner photo, DAVID DAVIS
