The sixth-grade Lake Forest Bruins bounced back from a loss at Baylor with a big win over the Boyd Buchanan Buccaneers.
The Bruins, who are now 3-1, opened up the play book and racked up a 44-0 win at home.
"We had five different guys find the end zone today,” Bruins head coach Mike Marchese said. “The kids really responded well after a tough road loss down at Baylor. We opened up the play book on offense and I can’t tell you how pleased I am with the total team effort on defense.”
After the half, the Bruins had their second and third team players in and only gave up a total of four first downs for the remainder of the game.
"We never missed a beat," Marchese said. “Everyone stepped up their game in practice this week and it showed. We are building depth in every position and it's great to see them all rise up when their number is called.”
The Bruins will host Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
