Autopsy results revealed a young Lee University student died of acute alcohol intoxication, according to Cleveland Police Department findings.
Jonathan Messer, 21, was found Aug. 5, inside a car parked at Carroll Court apartments.
Carroll Court is Lee University Married Student Housing, located at 1950 Cherry St.
Investigators learned Messer had been drinking the night before and had passed out in the car.
According to 911 reports, a call came in to the center Aug. 5, indicating a young man was inside a black Toyota and was unresponsive.
The caller told dispatchers that Messer had been drinking, passed out in the car and “they left him in the car overnight.”
Detective Lt. Mark Gibson said Wednesday that Messer’s blood alcohol content was higher than .30 percent and his death has been determined as accidental.
Messer was a resident of Cleveland, according to information provided by officer Evie West of CPD.
