The Cleveland Chapter of Junior Auxiliary has officially debuted its new mascot JAC. After a three-week communitywide search for a name, the Teddy Bear Picnic committee sorted through entries on Facebook and emailed community suggestions. “We had everything from Fuffle-Nogen to Cocoa to Brownie Bear,” organizers said. “It was a difficult decision to go through each one but we decided on JAC, which uses the first letter of Junior Auxiliary (of) Cleveland.” Chandler Mills of Cleveland, daughter of Robert and Tracy, suggested the winning name and received an official proclamation, a 10th anniversary Teddy Bear Picnic T-shirt, an assortment of quality books, a teddy bear, and teddy bear edible goodies. Children can meet JAC at the upcoming Teddy Bear Picnic on Saturday. In addition, JAC will make future appearances at community and Junior Auxiliary events.
