The Friends of the Library Association has announced that Janie Dempsey Watts will be the guest author at their Fall Luncheon, Oct. 24, to be held at the Cleveland Country Club.

Watts is the author of Moon Over Taylor’s Ridge and is a Chattanooga native. FOLA’s Fall Author Event is a community favorite and Merchant’s Alley will again be present, so be sure to save the date.

Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland will host their 10th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the library. Preschool and Elementary-aged children are invited to this free family event. Bring your favorite Teddy Bear or “Lovie” decorated in a special way for a chance to be crowned “Mr. and Miss Teddy Bear Picnic”. Activities include crafts, face painting, stories, coloring, entertainment and snacks.

Teen Book Talk will be discussing “Divergent” by Veronica Roth, Aug. 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone area.

Movie Night @ the library will continue to feature famous sleuths showing “Casablanca” Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. Come bring the family to see how Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) gets his former love (Ingrid Bergman) and her husband out of the country before the Germans get them.

The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day.
