He was born on April 24, 1930, to the late Theodore and Lizzie Kersey. He was a lifelong resident of Polk County and member of Boanerges Baptist Church.
He was a very friendly person and will be remembered as an upbeat spirit and entertainer to those at Bradley Healthcare and Rehab.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by brothers: Roy, Bobby Prince, and Billy Kersey; and one sister, Ruth Ann Kersey Suggs.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three sisters: Wilma Grace Disharoon (Jim), Betty Kaye Smith (Don) and Patsy Joyce Williams (Ronnie); several other extended family members and friends; and his second family, the staff and caregivers of Bradley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, where he resided for the past nine years.
The family will have a graveside service at Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Ronald Ledford officiating.
