Pvt. Stephen Lewallen recently received the Command Inspection Award during OSUT. The Command Inspection Award is given to the engineering soldier who displayed the most outstanding appearance, knowledge and bearing during the uniform, weapons and barracks inspection. Lewallen is the son of Anthony Lewallin and Annette Carbullido.

Air National Guard Senior Master Sgt. Richard B. Lewis has deployed overseas to a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners.

Active duty and reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe.

Lewis is an operations flight superintendent assigned to the 283rd Combat Communications Squadron at Dobbins Air Base, Ga.

The senior master sergeant has served in the military for 20 years.

He is the father of Jenishea Lewis of Cleveland. He is also the son of Wallace Lewis of Signal Mountain and Gail Hubbard of Warner Robins, Ga.

USS Missouri reunion

Shipmates who served aboard the USS Missouri (BB-63) will hold their 40th annual reunion, Sept. 10-18 at Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel in Harrisburg, Pa.

The USS Missouri Association is a nonprofit organization made up of sailors, Marines, officers and midshipmen who served on the famous battleship.
