The Flashback women’s 50s basketball team brought home another gold medal from the Tennessee Senior Olympics recently. The Flashback played eight games in two days, fighting out of the loser’s bracket to claim gold for the fifth consecutive year.

The Flashback won the final two games in pool play against the No. 1-seeded Bedford Brats. Playing the last minute with a 20 second shot clock, the Flashback battled through injuries to get the final shot before the 5-second mark on the clock.

Post player Missy Murphy caught the Brats off guard, stepping outside the 3-point line with six second left to seal the win with a perfect shot from behind the arc.

West Madison took third in the competition.

The Flashback will compete in national play later this summer in Cleveland, Ohio.

Vickie Haile won the gold medal in the 50s Division Free-Throw contest with Marcella Womac taking the bronze. Womac stepped up to win gold in Hot Shot and 3-point competition.

In the 55s skill contests, Deb Hart won gold in Free Throw and 3-point shooting and earned silver in Hot Shot.

Dianne Fetzer won gold in the 60s Free-Throw and Hot Shot competition and silver in 3-point shooting.
