The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard, Texas, with Craig Morris officiating.
Interment followed in Mount Antioch Cemetery near Mount Calm, Texas.
He was born July 8, 1963, in Edor-Oberstien, Germany, to Alton and Madella (Wooten) Evans.
He was raised in Mount Calm and was a 1981 graduate of Hubbard High School, where he was named Football Defensive Player of the Year from 1978-81. He later lived in Waco, Texas, before moving to Irving where he worked as a truck driver for Dupree Transportation, Star Transportation and T.J. Lambert Construction.
He was also a professional wrestler known as “Ravishing Ray” and was part of a tag team with his brother, Darren, in the Star Wrestling Federation.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Bedford Evans; and his grandparents, J.B. and Lottie Wooten.
Survivors include his son, Joshua Evans of Irving; daughter, Ashley Evans of Irving; mother, Madella Wooten Evans of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers: Don Evans and wife, Gail of Chickasha, Okla., and Darren Evans of Irving; three sisters: Clara Anderson of Rossville, Ga., Marie Stokes and husband, Bill of Smiths, Ala., and Rhonda Wollard of Canton, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Don Evans, Darren Evans, Mike Caldwell, Bryan Justice, David Boyinton, Chris Patterson and Michael Salcedo.
