Mary Irene McClure passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013.

She was born on October 7, 1937, in Elwood, Indiana. She loved working with flowers and bird watching. Above all of these, she will forever be remembered as a loving mother, sister and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Valynda Kim Presley of Cleveland; mother and father, Vernon and Mary (Krull) Shepard; brothers: Dwight Shepard, of Atlanta, Ind., Harold Shepard, of Kokomo, Ind., and Gene Shepard of Elwood, Ind.; sisters, Rosetta Lavon Shepard and Carolyn Shepard Coffey, both of Elwood.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory son, William T. McClure, Jr. of Charleston; Susan Buttrey of Cleveland; grandchildren, B.J. Buttrey of Cleveland and Melissa Presley, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn; sister, Roberta Roe of Tipton, Ind.; brothers: Arnold (Diane) Shepard of Frankton, Ind., Charles (Jean) Shepard, Tom Shepard and David Shepard, all of Elwood.

She also leaves behind two special sister-in-laws, Dorothy Shepard of Atlanta, Ind. and Mary Lou Shepard of Kokomo, Ind. and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the parlor of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW.

A graveside service will follow at Calhoun First Baptist Church Cemetery.
