The Commission had been set to vote on changes to the animal control contract with the city and a plan to move forward with the Lake Forest Middle School project.
Commissioners Jeff Yarber and Charlotte Peak-Jones listed the missing commissioners as the reason for pulling their agenda items.
“We want everyone to have input,” Peak-Jones said.
Peak-Jones pulled an agenda item asking the Bradley County Board of Education to bring a plan of what it could contribute to the LFMS project.
First District Commissioner Terry Caywood pointed to comments made in previous meetings about the school board not offering to contribute funding toward the renovation at Lake Forest Middle School.
Caywood pointed out that the school system will be making monthly payments of $50,000 to the city.
“I think you’ve already made a contribution. I was surprised that you absorbed (that),” Caywood said.
Fifth District Commissioner Yarber pulled a motion to approve an animal contract with an estimated savings of about $100,000. Yarber’s motion would commit this savings to the Lake Forest project.
Fourth District Commissioner J. Adam Lowe pulled an item committing funding the new academic building and renovations at Lake Forest
“Several Commissioners had requested that it be discussed at a work session,” Lowe said.
First District commissioner Ed Elkins pulled his motion to approve an animal contract with estimated savings of $220,000 going into the debt service fund.
The LFMS project is expected to be discussed at the May 28 work session.
