Spandau was patrolling North Lee Highway in Charleston early Wednesday when he saw a van for which Bradley County deputies had issued a “be on the lookout,” or BOLO.
The vehicle matched the description of one used in two burglaries on Broomfield Road earlier Wednesday.
Backup units arrived on the scene after Spandau made a traffic stop on North Lee Highway in Charleston.
James “Pockets” Ledford, 31, of an Old Powerline Road address, was charged with auto burglary and habitual motor vehicle offender. Deputy Matt Parris filed the charges, according to Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for BCSO.
Spandau noted in his report that Bradley County Cpl. Daniel Marlow saw several items in the van that matched the description of items taken during the alleged burglaries.
Criminal Investigations Division detectives are in charge of the follow-up investigation
